Hi All

I have a set of these fitted a bike of mine, a recently acquired 1994 Kona Lava Dome.

They just don't seem to work as they should. The cable retention side of both front and back brakes moves back and forth along the length of the brake mount / braze on. One side is fine, the other is all over the place. You can see that one side sits flush, as you would expect, with the mout. The other side is several millimetres away from the retention bolt. I have never come across this before so I'm a little confused.

Does anyone have any experiences with these brakes. They are standard fit on some mid 90's Kona's.

Probably some kind of spacer missing, have you stripped down and compare the internals between the good fitting and bad fitting brake arms ?

Either missing a washer or even the brass sleeves that go between canti stud and brake arm, going by the sheer 'flappy-ness' of that assembly.

Anyway sling them in the bin! I have some LX565 without pads you can have, just as a gesture of good will.

I can pop 'em through letter box on thursday ;)
