Why black rims are more expensive than silver?

Looking to replace one of the wheels in my bike, and like with most classics, silver fits better. Looking around at models available in both black and silver, the black is always a little bit more expensive (to my luck!).

Why is that? Fashion? or the black anodizing requires a more expensive process?

Re:

It's an extra process and we're all revenue streams! I got some commuter wheels built and at the time I could only get silver rims with the black finish on the inner circumference and black hubs. Boo! I wanted all silver for a classic look. Actually, why does everything have to be in that dull stealth black?
