I think it came free with MBUK one month. I had this up on my bedroom wall as Tim Gould was a big hero of mine. I knew they weren't real Peugeots underneath the paint and decals and at the bottom of the seat tube/bottom bracket you can just about make out the CR (Chas Roberts) logo.

I feel very blessed to actually have one of Tim's old bikes (originally owned by @doctor-bond , then @biglev 's)
Indeed! That's amazing to hear, I didn't realize it found its home with you.
it was ment to be...!
( I BELIEVE )
Mine is a bit more modest but I'd love to get my hands on one of these 89 Pine Mountains and to also know the history. They were run by the UK team and the article was in an 89 MBUK that was the very first one I bought. Why not the UK colour, why not use Team Marin frames and why then spec them as the Team? It's mentioned that they were soon to be replaced by a couple of Team Titaniums.View attachment 1022796View attachment 1022797View attachment 1022798
Hinton loved his crazy coloured tights! Lovely bike and very cool build.Love this Ed. Remember the MBUK article really well.
How about this as a WHERE ARE THEY NOW?
- another elusive Marin. Is it still out there somewhere?

There's a few of the production Pine mountain/Team models out there now. But the British manufactured prototype is still at large.
More info in my thread.

It soon became apparent that there aren't many of these about, so change of plan and go with a full restoration build on this one....

Oooo, nice, my sister lives in the USA......
Just had a look and tbh for $399 + shipping I may as well wait for something more local as it needs a full refurb. Interesting though that it's Tange Prestige as the UK 89's were not from memory? That would suggest the UK Team Marin was the US Pine Mountain that year which opens up possibilities and would explain why the article bikes had Team spec?Oooo, nice, my sister lives in the USA......
