What flat bar shifter works with Sora triple front mech

Got a road bike for my father today, it has drop bars running 24 speed via STIs. He wants to convert it to flat bars, running the existing triple front rings and mech - any suggestions which flat bar shifter will work? I'm pretty sure my old pair of 8x3 MTB shifters will work ok for the rear but not the front - is this correct? The front mecg is a Sora by the way, does that exclude r440 shifters? Seen these:

which I didn't know existed!

Thanks, Alex :)

Can't see why the CRC ones shouldn't work - as long as triple front (Shimano seem to think that the 221 is for double and 225 for triple (but other retailers also say same as CRC!).

Or of course a friction LH shifter would be OK.

cheers, yeah, I have a LH friction shifter on standby!

I'd say the CRC ones were perfect for the job & a decent price to boot.. in fact the SL-440s have a specific front mech for them though to be fair I've never tried them with a normal front triple.

I have done an R440 build and it was superslick but there's not enough money on this project to afford them - CRC did however do R440 shifters for £20 a pair a while back
