For Sale Vitus Seven 54cm.

Vetus Ossa

Retro Guru
Vitus Seven 54cm.

I am selling the above bike.

Equipped with a very nice Shimano 105, 5500 group set, including the flight deck shifters.

The wheels have Mavic Pro rims, and have new tyres fitted.

Cinelli handlebars, stem and bar tape.

All new cables.

In perfect working order, all of the frame joints are properly bonded, and it has no dents, just a few very minor marks.

It’s not in show bike condition, but still a very nice light vintage road bike.

I am asking a fraction of the price of similar bikes on eBay.

I have more pictures if needed.

Can box and post for couriering.

£295.

Sadly, you probably are*: the bike itself is great, in good condition and spec, a common size (not tiny or a gate) and you are willing to post but, if you've been looking at For Sale posts here, you'll have seen that the market is almost dead. Yes, a few special pieces sell for highish prices but not much else is moving.

I wonder if the retrobike (lower-case) scene is dwindling as anyone who wants their bike of yesterday's dreams has already bought it and there's not much new blood looking to buy? Anyone looking to get into cycling (a dwindling pool, too?) will be buying a 29" wide-tyred, single-chainring, disc-braked machine, irregardless of how much bike you can get on here.

Sorry for the doom and gloom, I've been thinking about the old-school bike's future quite a lot recently.

*assuming you've not received offers by PM. If you have, these should give you some idea of what it's worth.

Good luck.
