Was given a bike yesterday by an old fella who had it from new. He knew I liked bikes. Anyway we went down to his shed and inside was a viscount Aerospace Sport. Recognised the name and noticed it had shimano 600 rear mech, but is was covered in dust, but I could tell it was in pretty good condition. Although the tyre side walls were melting!
Anyway decided this morning to give is a clean and see what this bike was all about. Absolutely amazed in the quality to be honest. The frame build quality and welds are so smooth! Also the bottom bracket, wheel hubs and pedals bearing were so smooth also! In fact after the clean and pumped up the melting tyres which also took 55psi no problem, I went out for a short ride. What a surprise. Don’t know much about these bikes but after a bit of reading they seemed to be ok bikes. Not sure what to do with it just yet, may do a full restoration or let it go for a new home. If anyone has any details on these aerospace bikes, opinions etc that would be good.
