Hey guys,

there comes the time in a man's life where ... he just wants to build his personal
flawless bike. The time has come for me. I want to make this build as clean and
as Ti as possible. Frame, forks, stem, handlebar, cranks, rings, ... you get the idea.

I am still gathering the parts, one by one. And who would know better than you - yes
you sitting in front of the monitor - how hard it is to find just the right puzzle piece.
Sometimes you even need to buy a whole bike. But when you are lucky you find them
when you aren't even looking for them.

It all started more than a year ago. I bought some nice MORATI titanium MTB cranks,
110BCD. A couple of months later I couldn't help myself and buy a set of minty Boone
titanium rings. I didn't know why I bought those parts since I had no need for them. I
just wanted to have them. Later I thought putting them on my NOS GT Xizang - but that
frame will stay NOS I guess :)

Months passed, I was still perfecting my 16" Xizang build. It too should've been a full-ti build.
I was looking for a MORATI fork, so that I could put the Z2 in my 96 LTS. But it just didn't seem
right. The Xizang is gone now, but something else is lurking in my cellar right now. More to that
later.

This first post is only a little teaser. But I promise, the story will go on shortly and you will also
see some parts I plan to put on this build. They will be at least as good as this start, so stay
tuned :)

First up: MORATI titanium bar ends. drool

This is part I of todays 2-piece puzzle.

I have been waiting for it almost a month to arrive from the
USA - without any tracking number. It could have been lost but
no, thankfully it arrived. Only need to grab if from the post
office.

Nice idea, watching with interest.

Got to say I love my Merlin, only has Ti frame, handlebars, granny ring, bb and pretty much every bolt though. Your going to make me spend more bloody money on it now ;)

The OP is a total tease, and from the sounds of it, a Ti obsessive too. It's a heady combination.

I love my titanium frames and would happily put more titanium parts on them. But I'm not that dedicated.

Nobody likes the forks? Strange :)

Nevermind, here is the next puzzle piece as mentioned before;
MORATI titanium cranks, Boone titanium rings. The bolts are only
temporary.

Enjoy.

Re:

I was into Ti bikes and parts from the early days....thought I had lost the obsession when I gave up cycling for 15yrs. Threads like this bring that love back as strong as ever. I drew the line at splurging for those cranks and rings though but seeing them now...I keep bloody looking at them
