The mother of legends: MS Racing Pro Comp XT

One of my absolute dream bikes is a Pro Comp XT with a u-brake, like in the 1989 catalogue. Alas I think this was catalogue spec only and by the time the bikes were shipped to dealers they all had cantilevers.
So one day I’d like to build my own version 😄

You might be waiting a very, very long time! 🤣 unless someone gets one retro fitted and charges you a fortune for “the catalogue shot” bike! 😉

I was thinking of buying some pink grips to replace the Plastiche Cassano ones, but in the end I preferred yellow.
Since I really like the Ritchey grips, I bought some new ones, and they were indeed yellow, but an outrageously bright lemon yellow. Moral of the story: never buy anything yellow just from a picture; it will end in disaster.

Fortunately, the Zefal aluplast bottle cage is still manufactured in the classic yellow, so no surprises.
Take advantage of the opportunity to buy them in various colors; they are a very classic bottle cage and work well on many colorful bicycles.

For the grips, I opened my box of "forgotten and obsolete items" and found some in the right shade of yellow. I don't know the brand or who manufactured them. They have a chain link design. I know I've had them since the 90s (maybe '95 or '96), and the design is from that era. The rubber is surprisingly perfect... well, I won't think about it anymore; I'm going to put them on.
