I’m off work for three weeks at least as head cook and bottle washer after Mrs VF had to go to Glasgow for spinal fusion.

The only upside to being at home is that I’ve been able to watch the live TDF broadcasts, and what a race it’s been!
To witness Cav find incredible form and equal Eddie Merckx’s stage win record of 34 yesterday was absolutely fantastic, a man following the dreams of his childhood…. and he could break that record on the Champs-Élysées next Sunday!

Your name-sake had a super tour and two wins in two days was well deserved, was an amazing ride in the time-trial!

Was lovely to see him celebrating holding his son Georges on the podium too.

An amazing comeback, especially as sprinters usually only seem to stay on top of their game for four years or so.

And van Aert is just a phenomenon as a demonstration of all-round ability.
