SWAP: XT running gear for xc pro

I'd like to swap a pair of Xt thumbshifters, Xt long arm rear mech and a 28.6 top pull Xt front mech...


...for the equivelent xc pro stuff (only because the rear mech just doesnt shift on a xc pro cassette very well at all)


Any one?

Are you runing MicroDrive or Standard.

If microdrive, you should really use the microdrive front mech as they reprofiled it make it shift better.

Rear mech is not so important, though the thumbies are (assuming you get the older one's and not the newer shimano compatible ones (I think they altered it around 1994 ?)
Anyone back this up ?

Im pretty sure its a non microdrive cassette.

I was under the impression that the rear mech didnt matter as you say - but after fiddling around for bloody ages Im going the whole hog and whacking on all xc pro. Frint mech isnt so much of an issue as Im using cook bros cranks - I expect mundane front shifting!
