i have a spare GT frame and keep thinking of stripping the paint and giving it a polish so come on,tempt me lets see some shiney Ali frames please.

Marks in the last pic are from the clingfilm the frame came wrapped in after the polishing.
 
One thing I'd like to point out here - I've only ever maintained mine (from new) with some polish (then: autosol now: peek) and a rag - maybe a toothbrush to get in to the fiddly bits. Never had to use 600 grades of sandpaper. Also like to point out that, contrary to some things you see on this forum, polished alu is really easy to look after - when you think it's starting to get a bit dull (which isn't overnight) - quick half hour rub over and it's back and shiney again (and your hands are covered in black filth). :) Top banana.
