Spoke came loose, is it bad truing

So I need some help

Had my wheels trued by local bike shop the other day on my commuter

Today riding a long the spoke came undone and ended up wrapped round my hub

Now is this because they haven't trued it right or is because I've done something wrong, now I know I should have checked but I've been so busy with work

Faulty build. Most likely they didn't take out the wind up of the spoke. So when you ride the spoke unwinds and loosens.

Difficult to answer that. short of the spoke not being tightened at all or winding the spoke considerably, it coming undone is pretty unusual. the normal failure is overtightened and it snapping.
I'd be going back to the shop to ask the question rather than going in all guns blazing.

When we used to true or build wheels in the shop, we always said come back in a week or so as spokes 'bed in' with riding, but never had one come completely loose. That said sometimes nipples can fail or strip.

I always unwind spokes by compressing the rim after initial truing then a final check. Rarely have to re-adjust.
