Specialized Rockhopper as daily commuter

Hi new to the forum as well as Retro bikes, I found what I’m guessing is a 97-98 Rockhopper size 18” for $125 CDN, that I was hoping to use as a 1-2 times a week commuter bike. I have two concerns before buying 1 - I’m 5’10-5’11 unsure if this bike is big enough? 2 - it appears the bike specialized bike frames had become a bit more aggressive in the later 90s compared to the early 90s. My commute would be 10km each way. If I do go ahead I’d be looking to change the gearing to 1x10, as well as brooks saddle, and do a custom paint
