Wanted Something Special and/or Interesting In The 19-21" Frame Department.

So, this is a general wanted thread I plan to bump semi-reguarly.

I'm in the market for a frame or frameset in the 19"-21" range.

20/20.5" being the absolute sweet-spot.

I'm not worried about condition, other than structural damage, obviously. As I don't mind a bike with a previously hard-lived life and stories to tell!

I do want something from a smaller builder tho. Ideally NorCal. Something with a little soul and character. Maybe it just needs some love and a plan!

I have a few parts accumulated that need homes, and I'm thinking about turning them into two types of builds:

1. A modern-retro mash-up errand running and camping bike.

2. A period correct beater with soul.

With the parts I have, and have incoming, I have a few options in both 1" and 1 1/8" threaded or threadless. Not that this matters much if it's just a frame, but for any frameset hoarders I figured I'd mention it!

I do want fully rigid tho, so no suspension corrected frames or framesets please!

Hardly a deal-breaker, but I do happen to have a number of 27.2 posts floating around. So bonus points for any frame those would slide right into!

I also have a few things in the bins that would look great on a cross bike. So if that's something you have I'd definitely be interested, too.

Ideally I'm looking for something late 80's (relaxed geo) to early 90s (nothing later than '93), from one of the many usual suspects.

So...

Let me know if you have an abandoned project that needs a new home!

PS. I would love to do a Salsa build, but so would everyone else! Ibis, Steelman, Otis Guy, Curtlo, Bontrager, you know the vibe...

Well, I would be lying if I said I had no interest in an old FRO...

That said, I'm not sure it's the right choice for my particular build interests, seeing as you can really only go one direction with a Yeti. I.E. The right and proper one!

Still, feel free to humor me via PM with photos, details and a price...

Early 80s Marukin North Star
Original owner made it into a sort of commuter. Located in Northern California. $150 plus BikeFlights shipping. Nice components mostly original except XT/Mavic MA40 wheelset. I have a Mountech RD if interested in matching the original FD.

Not sure I’m ready to part with it. but I did come upon a 1993 Steelman single track with what looks to be a 21” frame. It is definitely NorCal and definitely unique. Be happy to chat about what it might be worth to you.
