Selle Italia resto tips?

Hi all, I picked up this saddle along with a load of other parts from a chap clearing out his garage. I’ve tried a good polish with black boot polish which has improved it but does anyone have any tips to get this back to black?
First time I’ve had a go at this so I’m stoked to see if I can rescue this bargain saddle.
