I didn't plan any, because I knew I would fail
A mix bag for me, but the year isn't over yet.I feel quite good about how last year went as I achieved most of what I wanted.
In 2025 I'd like to....
-finish putting together my Curtis RaceLite 24
-finish painting and assemble my Z1 QR20 forks
-apply finishing touches to my Curtis SuperX
-make a start on my Kona Entourage project
-continue selling the parts I don't need
-get a new bike rack for the car
-try get out and ride a bit more
Non bike related.....
-work out my sailing dinghy problem, maybe sell my Enterprise and get a single handed boat instead
-get the kids into skiing or snowboarding
Hopefully going to be a good year.
I think reflecting on my achievements is appropriate as the year draws to a close.A mix bag for me, but the year isn't over yet.
-finish putting together my Curtis RaceLite 24 - FAILED
-finish painting and assemble my Z1 QR20 forks - Failed, although I did buy the paint
-apply finishing touches to my Curtis SuperX - COMPLETED, it even won RBotM 98+
-make a start on my Kona Entourage project - STARTED
-continue selling the parts I don't need - STARTED
-get a new bike rack for the car - COMPLETED
-try get out and ride a bit more - FAILED
My dodgy knees have stopped me getting out on the bike but I've do a lot of sailing instead, this has helped regain some strength in my joints.
I had been thinking about selling some bikes, but I then found my unicorn which snapped me out of those evil thoughts.
I tripped over a BMX frame carrying the Christmas decorations back to storage. I then put my back out trying to navigate around some boxes of parts that are set aside to be cleaned up and go back on their respective BMX frames. Bloody place is a mess.
I'm not sure if that means be smarter about how stuff is put away, stored or displayed - or if things need to be sold off. My head says the latter, my heart says "you'll need that one day".
Either way, clean up the basement and finish some projects.
I hate new years. It takes me until February to stop being depressed about the passing of time. At least my bikes and guitars are now a year older and therefore more collectible. That's right... isn't it?
I'm happy to say that I did get the Kona built up (correctly) and I enjoyed plenty of rides on it.At some point in January 2025 I'm gonna get my moody arse off the sofa go out to the cold shed and cable the gears to the correct shifters (this time), then attach the brakes and get a ride in.
I can neither confirm or deny that this halfwit is responsible for the incorrect cabling, although the fact that I threw the f'kin thing in the shed in disgust during my tantrum kinda tells its own story...![]()

1) Ride more
2) Clear the clutter and sell the stuff I'm just not going to use
3) Accept that as I get older I can't do the things I used to, but that doesn't mean I can't spend time enjoying the things I can - which in this case is riding the quiet country lanes and bridlepaths on my cross bike, and exploring pubs and tearooms on the way
