Retro style wool look jersey

My brother can't wear wool but wants a jersey that looks retro and similar to wool, not shiny. Been having a look and there are plenty of good looking retro style synthetic jerseys but they all look it too. Any ideas?

Thanks. More like that but not sure if cotton's a good idea for a cycling shirt, just holds sweat.

Looks like for vintage that knitted acrylic has the wool look but not found a modern equivalent.

I think Santini might do something close to what you're looking for. I haven't seen anything that looks exactly like an old wool jersey though. They are usually t-shirts in the same or retro colour combinations.

Has he tried pure NZ Merino Wool. A few people I know who are allergic to wool next to their skin, find they have absolutely no problem with Merino. It's not cheap, but it's great stuff.

If that's the case he should have no trouble finding something - there are lots of retro wool jersey manufacturers around now. If you want to try merino without spending new jersey type of dollars get him a merino t-shirt - Ibex, Icebreaker, MEC and others make them for hiking/running base layers. They are awesome.

I mailed him, he says a supermarket chain over here have some merino stuff cheap at the moment so he'll pick something up and try it out.
