Raleigh Dynaflite SBDU 753.... 'Manager Special'

Lovely tyre, I wish they made them in 27” as well
Yeah it's a shame that they are only available in 700c X 25mm... folding Panaracer Pasela 27x1 are a good option..👍

I checked the tyre this morning and still looking nice and even.... time to bang it up to 120psi and stand well back. All good and Milo didn't jump 10ft in the air, I'm happy to run them at around 85psi with 50g Continental Supersonic butyl tubes rather than latex as this is going to be an everyday pub bike....🍺🍺🍺🍺😂
The rear wheel has been built 4 cross, the front 3 cross both with 305mm double butted rusty rustless spokes, I'm thinking 3 cross rear and 2 cross front in double butted stainless Sapien Race...👍

***No animals were harmed in this experiment***

The Sturmey Archer 5 Speed stem shifters were striped down and cleaned up with WD40, the stainless steel clamp polished then greased and reassembled. The ratchet mechanism stayed pressed into the rather heavy dia-cast metal levers with light oil applied into the holes. The right lever has three positions, the left side two, all with a reassuring clunk... weighing in at around 180g. Gear cable outer is the original black ribbed Raleigh/Sturmey and is in good condition though the inner cables will be replaced with stainless steel items...

That honestly makes your bike look like a bargain, apart from the Colnago frame and flashy Italian paint job everything else on it is pretty low rent stuff.

Were these a thing then? What year is the colnago?
They were a production bike based around the Colnago Oval CX, I think that the Gentleman is around 1983. I'm starting to find chain guards and flat handlebars quite appealing.... could this lead on to a liking for velcro fastening comfy shoes..😂

As ridden to work by a kitchen porter at a hotel in Sorrento. The lock was a surprise, being the only one I saw in use.

I've got a not a Brian rourke I'm planning on doing a gentlemans shopper with, flat bars guards and a rack for practicality. A whole new sub genre of bike building 😊
