the wedge in my stem is split and needs replacing. Not really any around at the moment so I'm thinking of buying a complete stem and using the bolt and wedge in my origional stem. Does anyone have such an item, it's a 1 inch, 150mm jobby. Please help, just got my frame back and I'm keen start rebuilding.

cheers for your replies.
The only word on on the stem itself that would suggest it's brand is 'italmanubri' ? it's an early muddyfox and I believe they used an amount of road bike components/brands. I'll try and get a picture up later.

Thanks for the offer of the tioga stem, what would you want for it?

am I right in saying I could fit a longer or shorter stem?

You can change the spec to what ever you want. 150 is on the long side. Even by retro standards. are you tall? is this a big frame?

it's not a big frame and I'm only 5'10''
150mm is the length of the actuall bolt, how are the stems measured? from the 'stop' line to the bars? I know very little about old bikes, sorry.

Just the bit that sticks out the front.

In other words,

measure it from the bolt that tightens the quill along the stem to the centre of the handlebars
