Like the progress on this Pace peachy. I was eyeing up that frame as well a while back when it popped up. Sounds like you've not had too much experience on modern bikes? Have you chucked a leg over something this long before? You're in for a treat

Back from my hols….
BB chain guide mount went West…
Rack eyes got “Frenched” I nearly brazed up the eyes on the stays but then I remembered if I did I would need to make another set of holes somewhere in the stays because of the nickel process… heating up the stays then drilling them again just seemed a silly risk when these can now be easily hidden under a graphic.
Last job is a light dusting/blasting with fine glass to get an all over satin finish…

None whatsoever... The only thing I've ridden this long was a tandem!

It looks terrible….sell it to me! Seriously contemplating following suit with my black Pace frame. Raw is cool.

Seriously though, amazing amount of work in this already. Interested by the glass blast satin finish…keen to see the result.

Such versatile frames. Mine has gone fat and rigid for now!

THM I assume you are referring to Backstreet Heroes and the fine custom motorcycles they show - fat rear tyres and no suspension ...I can't think of anything else you might be hinting at...nope...nothing....

Re long bikes - four years ago I ran retro bikes only - and measured a Skoda Yeti - perfect....I could get four bikes inside - front wheels off.

Then I started on contemporary builds - and by God the bikes are long - no longer do they fit inside with front wheel off and rear wheel on - a complete pain. So they go on a Thule rack on the roof, with all the issues re weather, security and height restrictions....

Finally happy with the finish, it’s taken longer than I expected and I’ve gone back over a few bits a number of times but I’ve got to draw the line somewhere. Oh and I’m definitely stopping at nickel, I want that warmer raw steel look rather than a mirror finished chrome. Anyway it’s been handed over to Dave at Allen Chrome (Pocklington, East Yorkshire) for the nickel plating so it’s out of my hands now…
