Paul Component Engineering PURPLE ANO ALERT!

Found these at my LBS. While I have no use for them, (either the part or the purple), I figured I couldn't let these retro babies languish away for another 10+ years. They're going to languish away in my parts room instead.

So, who's retro enough to remember what these were for? ;)

Yup, you're old.

They are brake lever extensions, so that you can brake when you have your hands on the bar-ends.

It's so you can use your brakes from the bar ends :)

Bugger should have read all the text

You don't have to be old to know what they are/do, you just have to be literate.
CHIMCHIM : does exactly what it says on the packet. ;)

I also have a set of Joe Murray's Dr. Dews (I bought them new in the early 90's). So between those and the Chim Chims, I figure I have the bar end brake lever market cornered! They never really worked though. Cantilevers plus brake lever extensions didn't exactly equal massive braking power.
