Wow, stumbled upon these while searching for 1" rigid forks last night. I know from MTBR that this fork is the same as many big names such as White Brothers and Origin8. Even the new Shimano carbon forks have dropouts looking identical to them, wouldn't be suprised if they are made by the same company in Taiwan too. Called Mekkem or something.

Chap brought a pair in to us to be fitted last week. Very similar to the branded kit but has IS disc mounts where most more expensive models use post these days. Finish was OK.

Obviously I need not say that buying direct from Hang Ping Industrial Co. supports your local bike shop and cycling in general not one jot and that cheap is not always better and will certainly not be ooooh'ed and aaaah'ed over on here in 15 years time. There I go again.... ;)

ive got these forks but i bought them direct from the carboncycles website as they were cheaper direct and shipped from the uk aswell. i havent ridden them yet but they seem well finished, as said above they are the same as many other makes which are twice the price.

Be afraid, be very afraid....... Sorry, I just can't convince myself that carbon rigid forks on a mountain bike are a good idea.
Probably just some weird phobia I have (that, and having being put off by a few horror stories/photos that I've seen).

im not going to loose any sleep over it. They are fitted to a carbon frame with carbon bars and carbon seatpost, carbon seat with carbon rails.

to be honest id feel alot safer riding that than riding a 15 year old manitou frame.

but thanks for the concern. :D

I used the Pace rigid carbon forks on my frames. And never had a problem. Would have kept them if they hadn't been to long.
Any thing can break. Seen plenty of pic's of broken ti,Allu and steel. Except carbon does seem to break sudden.

if you worried about when any part of your bike might break and what the consequences of said component breaking would be you'd never go riding.

statistically speaking im alot more likely to be hit by a car on my ride back from the woods than have my forks snap on the trail.

I did say that it was just a weird phobia that I have - I wasn't suggesting that no-one uses anything made from carbon fibre...... :)
