Machine Tech Hubs - Opinions Please.

Pick these up recently, mostly because I've always thought they were cool looking, but can't find many reviews on the web.

I hear the front hub is really good but the rear one tends to slip over time...with the earlier version being more reliable than the later one.

I'll probably throw them on my city bike or on one of my cross country rides.

Anybody riding these?

Don't know much, but this one works ok. Would also appreciate some info on it. I read somewhere they gave trouble if you greased them, as you were supposed to use only oil, but I don't know whether that is true.

Wondering how best to sell it really, perhaps dismantle the wheel first.

They're reasonably light, but not featherweight.

Hi,

Koga put them as std equipment on the 96 and 97 SkyExpension. Sadly for them they ordered way too much. Purchase wasn't as streamlined back then as it is now. Sadly for them ...BUT not for folks like me. The front hubs, all in blue, were dumped including Zero Ti QR for 50 guilders each. The guilder is currency from ancient times, but I can tell that is little over 20 euro. Not bad for a time when those hubs were available new.

Anyway, the one I have in a front wheels is laced with a 3 cross patern to a DP22 rim. Right out the box the hub spinned smooth as butter ...and it still does.

Tis a loovely looking hub all the same, nice full deep colours, dont konw how reliable they are ,but theyve been about a fair while now and seem to have stood the test of time

front hubs are great and you can replace bearings easily yourself. The rear hubs come in 3 types - normal which was the best one IMO. Then silent clutch (when there is no clicking when freewheeling) which is okay but prone to slipping!! and then T20 which were quite similar to the first ones.

Immaculate machining as always. I had 2 pairs recently and sold them both - ideally looking for some in red but cant seem to find them!!!!!!!!
