Kettler Alu-Rad Safari Adventure S

Larches

Retro Newbie
I've inherited this solid, reasonably well-looked-after bit of history on wheels. 😁 It says "Made in W. Germany" on the front, so that gives a good starter clue as to its age!

Does anyone have any idea of its likely year of manufacture, and what it might be worth?

The mix of Shimano componentry makes me think this could be about 1985/6. Looks to be in reasonable condition but it is a bit of crossover town bike/ offroad tourer, ie not a pure mountain bike. I think a price of 175 gbp would be reasonable. IMHO I think the chain disk is more likely to put people off so I would remove it.

Nearly bought one new!

There a drum brake version out there too

1987/8 ish

Its a 'proper' MTB though, thats what they looked like back then, just for a short while

£150 to £250
