Right - I’m horizontal on the sofa after minor surgery so there’s no photo of this frame but I will do one when I can and if anyone is interested.
In the store here is an SM800 18inch which is about the rattiest Cannondale frame I have seen in a long time. White with red logos etc you will know the one - first batch into uk. Not cantilever dropouts. Big thick plate dropouts. I think this makes it 1985 or earlier...ie first series when they were still working out of a loft near the Cannon railroad. It is identical to the one I had in 1985. Beautiful tubing and joints. Sprayed Matt black by a bodger at some point. I can take a look at the serial no when I can move again.
This was a rescue frame, abandoned on the street in Saaarf London when I was there for a while in 2001....with just a rear mech and headset - mangled steel forks, nothing else.
No cracks, no dents.
I put it together as a parts bin road special and boy did this ride beautifully. But I needed the Orange f6 forks I put on it temporarily so it is now sad.
Realistically I should not spend time on this one due to other priorities .... so this is free to anyone obsessed by REAL Cannondales. Free on collection from near Cambridge or can pack and post but will need postage paid.
Dibs here and then PM me. Thanks.
