I Am a bike mechanic by trade (there I said it ) and my policy with poorly hydraulic rim brakes (especially Avid) is just to replace them so what we have here may well be perfectly functioning brakes with a bit of time from you. They are all from good bike (not skip finds) that have been bought in for attention because of loss of brake fluid after a lay off. invariably they have been stored in a shed with variable temperature and humidity and hydros dont like that. I ALWAYS send customers away with FULLY functioning reliable brakes that i know will give good service so don't even bother to look at something that has lost fluid.
