I don’t know anything about this, I can’t find this paint scheme in any catalogue. 1997 maybe? Any GT experts able to provide more info?

It was cheap so I bought it as a project, I’ve not had a retro bike purchase in a long time. It appears reasonably well spec’d.

All the bearings will need doing, cables, chain etc. but the seat post is free.

So, a quick rummage gives me the following fork choices:

Shitty RST with coil springs and no damping (very long)
Box fresh Project Twos with a nice long steerer
Fox F100 RLC I could drop the travel to 60mm on

Or….

A stem extender and keep the original fork

My back / neck won’t like the current set up. My tightness prevents me from buying another fork .

Nice purchase . If it was mine? I’d keep the original forks. Maybe swap the stem for one with more rise and rotate the bars slightly to improve the position. Would that be enough?

So, I debated what to do with this, as I have a suspicion that despite being a 20” frame it’ll be too low at the front end. Therefore I did the bare minimum to make it rideable and ensuring no damage will occur. I.e. if I rode it further with notchy bearings it could make things worse. Last night’s ‘service’:

Fixed the front puncture
Re-greased the rough headset (much better now)
Re-greased the front hub with new balls on one side
Re-greased the rear hub (well slapped more grease over the old grease )
Replaced the seized gear cable inners with decent used stainless items.
Replaced the snapped ferules with decent used items.
Replaced the totally shot and rusty chain with a less shot (but 11 speed ) second hand chain
De-glazed the rims
Fitted new brake pads
Adjusted the brakes

Bike is undersized for you judging from seatpost height but you can make it work w/ a riser bar. Bravado had a good steel frame.
