Campagnolo bottom bracket axel length

Looking for advice from the wise people of Retrobike. I have been asked to restore this beautiful Alan road bike. It will sport a super record drive train replacing the dogs breakfast of 90s campag triple components. I know that I will have to swap the bb axle but am unsure how to work out the correct length. I am ok just to get a 111 mm or is there more to it. I will re use the cups and bearings as they should be ok. If anyone wants a campag triple crankset derailer and bb axle please message me.

It's a can of worms that depends on a number of things. There were at least two and possibly three changes to Campagnolo square taper BBs over the years. The first was when they introduced helicoil grooves in an attempt to combat foreign body ingress and the second to comply with CPSC regs which may or may not have occured at the same time.
If you have a true Campag triple axle in an Italian frame it should carry a series of numbers like 70-SS-120 followed by x3 (70 = 70mm shell, SS = road, 120 = rear hub width, x3 = triple). Post CPSC BB axles can be missing the 120 or can have +1.0 +1.5 appended to them. Whatever you've got you'll need an axle with the same code but missing the 'x3'. Where the pre/post CPSC thing is concerned the Campag advice at the time was that post CPSC axles are usable with pre CPSC cranks but pre CPSC axles may or may not work ok with post CPSC cranks - which is basically shrugging shoulders in a typically Italian fashion.
