Hi,

Im restoring a 92 Clockwork in the classic orange and white colours.
The white appears to be a pearl white on the original paint but there also seems to be sticker burn from the original decals which have been removed.
Were the decals done this way on top of the clearcoat?
Most people seem to put them under the clear...

Ive also seen some different versions with sticker placement. The seat tube has the orange logo either side and the logo and orange name on the upper chainstays below the canti studs...

Any help appreciated.

Not an expert but im definatley interested in what your doing. :?
Is this a clockwork that you intend to repaint ?
Have you got any project pictures yet ?

The stickers were and have been stuck on last on all mine Jon. The white is pearl but various different orange's were used over the years.

Sticker placement is a tough one as they seemed to be quite random at times. There's a way the majority were done but if I said X someone would pop up and say they've got something different. Saying that, by 1992 they were using the mk2 classic decals and the 'Clockwork' was on the top tube. Have a look at the grey one in my sig as I used a 1992 frame when looking where to place mine.

Thank you.

The white and orange one is the one I have right now. The stickers are the same as well.
The white on mine is a pearl as well.

The orange is darker than the standard RAL colour so I'll try and knock something up.

Im also getting a stalk stem done which I have decals for but it will look a bit weird if its white when the rest of the front end is orange..(I have the rigids as well)
Did they do stalk stem is orange?

Cheers

J
