1989 was the only year Rocky Mountain used the 'granite accent' finish, which I really like. I kept an eye out and was able to secure this little frame. It is quite rough around the edges and needs some work to tidy it up a bit but I'm just enjoying riding it at the moment, so the refurbishment will have to wait for now.

A repaint that now needs to be repainted again - donk's 1989 or 1990 brodie climbmax - most likely a 1990 based on a recent post here, hard to remember after 30+ years of original uninterrupted ownership.

Original colour was a deep metallic flake green. Hard to see in one of the few pictures I have of it.

I had it repainted to panels in about 1994 by Beeks Custom Refinishing in Toronto.

Added the Paul Brodie stem when he did a run a few years ago. Parts on both are pretty much the same.

Starting to think about having velocolour do a modern interpretation of a classic brodie paint...

Here is my 1990 Brodie Climbmax. I've had it since new.

The bike was repainted in around 1994 by Beeks Custom Refinishing in Toronto.
The fork was replaced due to a broken steerer tube. This appears to be a 3rd generation as it has the aluminum drop outs and drilled crown, while the original had the spinner drop outs and solid crown.

I paid extra to have rear rack mounts on the seatstays, I also remember being upset that the tubing sticker was not prestige, but brodie select

The build is as follows:

Frame and fork - brodie climbmax / gatorblade

Stem and Seatpost - syncros - really...

Just picked this up cheap in my local auction rooms, cheap will be worth keeping an eye on there in future, picture is from their website as i haven't collected yet, It looks like it has canti brakes and gripshift, but can't see anything else, any experts on Kastle bikes out there??
