I’ve got a little XLM I’m thinking of rebuilding for my son to use. Does anyone know the year and post size (it’s bigger than 27.2mm)? I’m guessing around 2010 but really not sure.

My 06/07 CR Works road frame takes a 31.6mm dia. seatpost.

Thanks. I had read some Merlin's were that size. Unfortunately 27.2mm is the biggest I have, so can't check

Judging by the serial number and the head badge it may date from 2002/2003-ish(?).

Do you know how to decipher those serial numbers at all?

I'm afraid not, I've seen a couple of 2004 frames that are in the mid 80,000's number-wise and have an engraved headtube logo. The 2002 brochure in the Archive here shows an XLM frame like yours with an applied head badge, so my dating is a bit of an informed guess 🤞. Unfortunately the brochure doesn't appear to specify seat post size, but may be worth a more detailed peruse in case it's in the small print!.
