Well thanks to you guys and this forum .......during lockdown I bought a cro mega as a fixer upper ....was always my second dream bike ..first being a al-mega but there all broke or serious money. Luckily a mate a had a cro mega frame already stripped and primed so deal was done ....one of my dream bikes, no parts bikes, spares or anything ....being self employed and literally not having a pot to piss in I though sod it .....will scrape along some how.
Always liked Klein fade jobs but didn’t fancy trying a triple colour fade with rattle cans so decided on an2 colour fade ........being an artist and a biker from the early 90s I wanted to created an in your face early 90s mountain bike that would visually blow your socks off if seen in. Bike shop as a teenager ....so the colour.....bubble gum pink, with delicate purple fade and gold bits ......yes sounds horrible but from an art point of view these colours work hand in hand ....

Re:

I found out about this guy called Gil and ordered some decals with a custom purple element ....to match the underside fade of the paint job ..........applied the graphics, then sprayed the lacquer .......unfortunately the garage was like minus 4 degrees .....hence I quickly bought a heater and managed to blag a diamond bright full valeting kit from the local range rover dealership .....quick cut and polish and all was good.....I removed the cloth from the last buff ....tuck a step back then bang ....my head hit the temporary flood light in garage and it fell on the frame ....

At this stage I realised I had no spare parts and minimal budget but knew I was going to convert my 2 x 10 zasker to a 1 x 12 SRAM eagle .....hey Shimano xt derailleur and cassette ...happy days ...plus an epic fella on here had a synchros stem in the critical 0 degrees by 150 length I prefer. Now wheels, what to do.......luckily a client of mines bother works in Far East doing product design in fixie bike components......an experimental set, deep dish unfortunately with disc fitment got sent over ......they reminded me of HED wheels...., white tyres, gold bolts n set post .....then just to be really controversial...brown seat from amazon and handlebar grips.....
In design the rule of 3 is king, I think I may of got away with the rule of 4

Within a week of riding it and sharing the build on a couple of Facebook pages ...it’s now sold. Going to good home next week .........never wanted to sell it but current circumstance meant I had no choice.
Fingers crossed I can get back to work after 7 months off and get creative with builds again ...along with dare I say it original restorations
