'90 Stumpjumper Comp framebuild

Made a Pepsi-can shim so I can use my 26.8mm seatpost. Sheldon Brown was right. The 91 Comp has a 27mm post.



Bar tape arrived, so had to test the colour. Notice the golden seatclamp.



I also have the chain, and a black seatclamp:



This means I have everything to make this a riding bicycle, at least a beta version.
The crank and BB will be changed out for new parts once I confirm the chainline and chainring size necessary (currently 34t x 18t)
Saddle and seatpost will be different pieces as well.

I have the correct spacers to dish and tension the rear wheel, finally
So the coming days, there should be progress. And hopefully a testride.

They're VEE tire co - Mission in 2.1 size.
Fell in love with the looks on Amazon and bought them over 2 years ago
However, I'm having second thoughts on going knobbly on this build since seeing the street tyres installed as it sits now.

I suppose it won't hurt swapping them to see the result. They're currently on a bianchi Celeste MTB from 2000 and look fabulous

I should really present my bikes in a seperate thread, the other 4 mtb's are all 98+

Will you keep the grey colour on the frame?
Love how it is all coming together.

These Mission tyres are very light rolling yet nice and plushy. I really love them and I think they would look nice on there.

Are you sure about the yellow bartape? Not that it looks bad but I'm not able to keep the light colours looking nice for even a short time.
