4 Lockdown projects

Soooo being bored through lockdown I decided to sell some bikes and buy some new ones.

Ones that I liked BITD.

Some time was spent on eBay and on here and here are my 4 new additions.

First up was a very original 1992 Cannondale M1000.
All this needed was tyres and a new cassette.

Next was a 1997 Marin Mount Vision.
Had to put some XT bits back on it, still need a crank but that will happen at some point.

Then I saw a Klein Pulse Race frame for sale on here. Ok it's a Trek made Klein but to me it is still a lovely bike and it certainly rides very well.
This was made up of bits around the garage and a pair of forks sourced from eBay.

Finally a very battered Orange C16R was spotted on eBay. So fancied a chance at restoring it. Still needs some new tyres, but these will do for now. Also waiting for a new decal set to arrive, so photoshopped these in.

I have to say I am loving this lockdown. It's certainly keeping me busy.

Lovely fella.

We're 2 for two on same model and year, with your Marin and 'dale.

No Kleins here and my p7 is a 96, so close on three!

Which do you prefer to ride? I'm probably saying P7, but the M1k is very close, would be ahead, if it were based solely on smooth runnings.

Cheers.

Nice choice of bikes your self ;)

They all ride very differently.

The Dale is just light and fast. Very comfortable and sorted.
The Marin is like a glove, fits well and just feels right.
The Klein is solid and tight, shifts along on the road despite wearing knobblies. Imagine it is a bit of mile muncher with road tyres.
The Orange is very stable and long, also be a great mile muncher but just not as comfy as the Klein.
