Here's my recently finished 1990 Klein Attitude Flare

One of the earlier Attitudes (the serial number says this is the 63rd Attitude). You can tell its early by the downtube cable inlets sitting above the centre line.

20" Frame, Klein mission control stem/bars, Box crown fork.
Repainted by Dave Wilkins in this gorgeous vibrant 'Flare' colour.

Full Shimano XT including seatpost, skewers and thumb shifters.
Dia-compe SS5 brake levers.
Specialized Ground/Master control tyres.
Turbo nubuck saddle.

I'm really pleased with how this turned out. Simple XT is just so classic and works really well on early 90's bikes i think.

Never seen an Attitude finished in ‘Flare’ before…. that’s really cool Tom, very classy 😎

The colour certainly pops, i bet more so in the sun

Very nice, understated build. I'd say the tyres let it down a bit, but that's only if I was being fussy

What tyres do you think would work, I’m always open to tinkering suggestions.

I'd like to see it with either period correct (for the right look) or modern tyres (for worry free riding). Tyres that are just a few years older than the bike seems to be the worst of both worlds, iykwim?

I do know what you mean. I think my aim would be to put repro smoke/dart on for riding it this summer. Very useable and replaceable too. In the meantime I’ll leave it be unless something better turns up.
