Re: It started with a set of rims…

I’ve got a pair of Mavic rims on LX-M550 hubs laying around. They’ve got a Specialized sticker on them. What to do with that…?

Re: It started with a set of rims…

I found a black Shimano XT front hub that matches the wholes in the rims… Could I build a wheel set on my own? I could try! But wait… I’ve to find a matching rear hub first. Black Shimano XT off course…. At that time I did not know that it would take me almost one year to find the matching rear hub. But finally one shows up on Ebay… The wheelbuilding can now begin…

Re: It started with a set of rims…

After one evening figuring out how the spokes pattern works out… the wheels are now finished! Now I can make plans for the rest of the bike…

Re: It started with a set of rims…

I’ve got a used Shimano XT U-II brake… that would be nice to use on this bike…
