1960's Holdsworth Frame

I recently bought a Holdsworth frame. Told 1960s, based on a Mistral. 531 frame and forks. The frame has ss sliding dropouts only, no mech hanger, no cable stops or gear/brake cable hangers, bottle cage mounts etc. Front fork has the lamps mount on the r/h fork blade.

Is this a track frame?

Track / path frames have the dropouts with the slots facing backwards....

Just Google track dropout :)

Then its a road frame :). However, bitd we slotted in a fixed wheel for the winter months.

The rear mech would be on a gear hanger. No braze ons was an early 1970's quirk :)

P's any pics?

You can run gears on those dropouts, all you need is a gear hanger and possible reset of the width. What dropouts have you gone for?

Re:

Just take it to Jose at Paulus Quiros and ask his advice.

Nice frame, love the pin striping.

Just had as Google for that guy as I'd never heard of him, some quite nice work if a little quirky :)

Thanks for that, learn something new every day as they say
