Just replacing the bottom section of seat tube is the ultimate way to repair a frame like this ( exactly as FCC did in the factory originally ) so it keeps the 29.4mm seatpost sizing and has no discernable effect on the amazing ride qualities of these lively frames. Only ever seen two perfect resprays of these to original standard and this Merc F1 booth effort is definitely one of them. Beautiful bike that lives upto the hype. Just wish it was a M/L
