Another rigid fork question. My ‘96 Bonty runs 60mm Judy’s. I’d like to know the equivalent a-c for a rigid fork. Early “susp corrected” frames for 40mm ish forks require a 410mm a-c rigid and when Pace bought out the RC30 with 425mm a-c that was to replace 80mm travel forks. So I’m guessing I’m looking at 415 to 420mm? I have a Gen 3 RC30 from 96/7 which is 420mm so I’m erring towards that being correct but as Keith Bontrager was so precise with his geo, I wondered if anyone here knows definitively?

I also need to confirm the rake of the RC30 as the Bonty was design for a very small 1.25” trail fork

Thanks, Matt

I've run Bonty frames of that vintage with forks from 60-80mm travel, and with and without a Bontrager crown. I've found them pretty tolerant of that variation. So I'd be tempted to measure your current fork and subtract an allowance for sag and see where that puts you for a target length. I doubt you'll have much option as far as rake goes unless you get something custom built.
