MS Racing - New Project / Childhood Dream Bike

Headset size relates to the outside DIA of steerer tube of the fork, which means if you don't have a fork, then you'll have to measure the inside DIA of the steerer tube which is what you did and that equates to a 1" headset. 👍

MS Racing - New Project / Childhood Dream Bike

@goshow Found this thread: https://www.velovintageagogo.com/t11441-ms-racing-cr-ii-1989 Pretty certain it's a 1" headset. I can check my CR1 tonight if need be, if I can get to it! That headset is on eBay: https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/261986895890 And the outside dimension in description...

MS Racing - New Project / Childhood Dream Bike

Yep that's it. The one you have near you is a lower end model which will be full cromoly steel. Looks like you could nab stem and bars, but the fork steerer will be too short based on headtube of the @goshow has, but you can get these extended without too much stress. They might be made from a...

MS Racing - New Project / Childhood Dream Bike

@gtturbo bike is amazing to be fully original! You might be better off looking for another bike as a donor, as parts like the stem, Strong branded seatpost and MS Racing saddle will be difficult to come across, plus buying things in bits is usually more than buying a complete something. Do you...

MS Racing - New Project / Childhood Dream Bike

Love these MS Racing bikes. You can really see the design influence they had on the first generation alpinestars. I have a CR1 which I bought a while back and have yet to do anything with it. It's lost it's original saddle, seatpost, tyres, brake blocks and grips and as no doubt in the early...

Great Karma! Love a good sticker. I think seeing Herbold's World Cup winning bike made me develop a sticker fetish! :D

    For Sale 2x Giant Super Sierra’s (1988)

Ah the man with the Peugeot collection! What an awesomely tidy space you have to work in. I aspire to get a space like that one day, until then I have my single garage that is used to store/fix/repair/build so many different things, it’s like a jungle of STUFF! 😳🤣

    Titan E-Stay on LFGSS

Still talking with seller as he has some other retro parts I will need for this build. Was a totally spur of the moment purchase as I haven't seen many come up for sale (cue another one turning up next week which will be in better nick & cheaper! 🤣 ). Once I get it, I'll start a build thread...

    Titan E-Stay on LFGSS

Um, errr... I bought it! 🤣 It's 19" to top of seat clamp which is still 0.5" shorter than my first MTB aged 14 which I was meant to grow into... will just have a little less seatpost showing. Looks like you could touch these up with Hammerite! 🤣 Always loved these and yes they weigh a bloody...

    Titan E-Stay on LFGSS

So it’s finally up for sale. Was mentioned he was going to sell it in the Retro Mountain Bike thread a while back and I mentioned it on here, but nothing materialised until now. Good price for a rare beast. Hopefully someone here gets it. Too big for me!
