Pullers for 23mm (Spécialités T.A.) and 23.35mm (Stronglight) are readily available, and a useful addition to any vintage bikewrencher's toolbox. If you can find a tap in one of those sizes, that would be my preferred solution. Not sure if a 22mm tap will do much good anymore.

Ha! :) No, really. I like the Campag-esque thumb buttons, that they're 7-speed and that they're cheap. A cheap & cheerful solution for brifterising an old 7-speed bike.
