Back to the 80's i shall go.

First bit of polishing done and it's cleaning up nicely, probably the only touch up area i'll do is between the bottle mounts on the seatube the rest i think i'll just leave alone. Now to find those XT M732 parts i've had stashed away.

Back to the 80's i shall go.

I only noticed there was no chainstay bridge when i was cleaning it, at first i thought oh no has it fell out lol but it clearly never had one. I'm guessing there might be a bit of flex in the bb,it'll be interesting to test this and the 89 Explosif when it's done back to back to see the...

Back to the 80's i shall go.

Frame and forks washed and first coat of polish on one of the fork legs says this paint should come up a treat.

Back to the 80's i shall go.

Thanks for all the comments it's been a great project to work on taking me back to being that 13 year old kid, i'm going to enjoy going on some leisurely cruises along the seafront. So what's next, well fast forward to 1989 and this dream bike was in the catalogue, black with white splatter...

    WHERE ARE THEY NOW......?

That's a first for me seeing one which isn't the catalogue pic,i wonder if only people from Specialized got them. Just owning a 88 Team Stumpy would be a dream come true for me but to have that one would be extra special.

    WHERE ARE THEY NOW......?

Owning these two would be a dream come true for me,88 Marin Titanium and Dave Yates' Prototype Vulcan. I've always wondered where the prototype Vulcan is, does Mr Yates still have it or is it somewhere in the UK forgotten about.

    '93 Team Marin £203.50BIN

Mine was definitely in better nick than this one but they do clean up quite well with some effort. I've got no luck with Team Marins, after that one was sold i found a 94 Team Marin. But when i removed the bb rust was there, some bangs on the driveside chainstay and more rust kept appearing...
