    Paul Rear Mech

Heat on the cage should do it as it will soften any compound and expand the outer section. You can cool the bolt while you're heating the cage with a damp cloth and wetting the knuckle. The tool interface is too small for the size of thread, but they probably expected it would be disassembled...

And those angled pads are quite hard to get these days. You might need a pair a day!

I’ve finally accepted my fate……….. is this sacrilegious?

Make sure you keep a hpv-style cycle handy too. Of course 😁I'm sure you will. We only buy/sell mid-drive ebikes, they are generally £1700up, but with bosch/yamaha/shimano the human and electric power is beautifully integrated. We get wheelmotor ebikes through the workshop every day. One...

    Wanted Brake barrel adjusters

Post a photo of the style. I've got about 1,000,000 barrel adjusters, although older campag ones are high demand, (they probably fall out of the caliper when off the bike🤣)

Politicians being interested in popularity is a symptom of democracy. Unfortunately dictatorships and monarchies are generally worse. Those professional bodies and campaigners that should be helping quite often fall into ideology, where any disagreement is unacceptable and wrong. It's like a...

Where's my forest gone? To the Grouse...that's where....

A problem here is the deer lack predation and so they are overgrazing the woodland understorey, including young trees. Similar to many parts of the Highlands - except they've been overgrazing for so long most of the forest died off. It's almost impossible to legally cull them. Cars get a...

Sorted I need a fork, I need many things, I digress.

You can build in some ride softness or compliance with steel quality, and some butting to allow the flex along a greater length of the fork blade. So theoretically a straight fork could be as good, but it would be a lot more difficult and expensive. As a rule, cheap straight forks are...

Where's my forest gone? To the Grouse...that's where....

Here's one end of the village: The trees tend to be on the boggy or steep ground, or in the hedgerows, with the sheep grazing in walled or hedged enclosures in between. The mature hardwood trees formed part of the working landscape, providing timber for building and fuel for heating. This...

For Sale Large Collection of Cannondale Bikes.

Exactly how many bikes is useful to estimate transport requirements. Looks like 14? I think I can get this many in my estate car plus trailer - sadly 26" mtbs are slow sellers, but I'm thinking about it😉 Tom

There's been plenty of unsuitable, destructive tree planting too. There's all- day chainsaws in the background here at home, removing several acres of 80s tax-break plantation that is now sick, Almost nothing lived there in the darkness anyway, now leaving a boggy mess. It was planted over...

    CBT Italia Proteus

Great buy! European welding is often like that, but you've also got that amazing chromed seat cluster lug making it one of those late steel frames straddling the end of lugs and the start of tig. (Plus shaped columbusv tubes, pantographing &gios fork worth what you paid for the bike...) That's...

It's also that period where bike specs hadn't realised that STIs bring the ride forwards onto the hoods, so you want a shorter stem than in the "downtube days" We still have 2 boxes of 110+ ahead stems, anything cheapish goes straight in the recycling.
