2004 Redline Monocog Flight

Beastieboy

Dirt Disciple
This was I bike I completely chanced upon a couple of years ago when I was living in Toronto. I bought it off a guy (weirdly with the same first and last name as my dad - no relation) who's daughter had raced BMX growing up and he thought this might be a bike he could go on rides with her with. That didn't seem to happen so I became the new owner. The chap he had bought it off had been the one to build it using a really mix of parts, mostly very nice.

Spec as I bought it:
04 Redline Monocog Flight frame and fork
Profile Hubs on Sun Ringle rims
Ringle Slamma Jamma headset
Avid Saago stem
Bontrager Crowbars
Deore levers
F. XTR v-brake
R. Avid Arch Rival 5.0
FSA Powerpro cranks
Syncros seatpost
Selle Italia Flite

Pretty soon after getting it I switched some things up, mainly with the controls. The bars were pretty narrow and the stem although incredibly cool, was too long so I switched for a Thomson stem and some Spank bars I had in my parts box. Alongside this I through on some wider tyres in the form of some 2.4 Conti Mountain Kings to replace the tiny Geaxs. It looked so much better but didn't get a whole lot of use.

Nice and intersting because a bit unusual Bike 👍

Actually to me it looks even better at the earlier pictures.
Typically I would prefer wider tires too, but with the small tires it looks a lot like a bit grown version af a BMX racer, where mostly small tires are used.
This fits of course also to the Redline brand...

Thanks @coomber and @joglo .
Yep I see what you mean, definitely had more of a BMX cruiser vice to it first.
I'm still trying to figure out what's next for this. I've always wanted a Sunn BMiX so if one came along this would probably make way for that but at the minute they seem pretty thin on the ground.
