16" 1997 GT Talera Reverse Team Scream

I was planning on doing more to this but have just got hold of an STS DH frame in a state which will no doubt take up all my time and space so this and the Backwoods need to go. I couldn't pass on the Team Scream frame and forks when I saw it even though it's way too small for me, built it up with mostly parts from a 98 Zaskar.

  • 1997 Team Scream GT Talera 16"
  • 1998 Rock Shox Judy SL Long Travel forks
  • LX Shifters
  • XT rear mech
  • Club Roost Go Fast bars with brace
  • New ODI grips
  • New KMC chain
  • NOS DMR V8’s straight out of the box (can include the box if you like)
  • LX V Brakes
  • STX RC crankset
  • Mavic X221 on GT hub front wheel
  • Mavic X221 on STX RC rear hub
  • WTB Velociraptor tyres
  • New Brand X headset
  • SDG Saddle
  • Kore Stem
£275

The lacquer on the frame has discoloured in some areas as you can see in the photos, the decals are in excellent condition. These forks are 1998 long travel Judy SL’s. One of the SL decals and one of the Long Travel decals are missing and the other is peeling off, I was going to replace these but haven't had time. The forks are in great condition and working well.

Front mech has no cables in the photos but have set it up now.

Located near Aylesbury but can post at buyers cost. IMG_7820.JPEG IMG_7831.JPEG IMG_7825.JPEG IMG_7832.JPEG IMG_7822.JPEG IMG_7834.JPEG

This was my first proper mountain bike, love those graphics.

Out of interest did you get your STS off of FB marketplace? With the white brother forks? I was looking at that for some time and wondered if I’d see it on here as a build thread one day.

Glwts too 👍🏻

Yes that's the one, It is in a bit of a state but salvageable. I've given it a test polish to see if the faded thermoplastic will come up which it does and the aluminium comes up easier than a ball burnished Zaskar. I threw some wheels and a saddle on it just to gauge the look, the forks are shot and probably a later project so I'm after some DHO's.

Also after AC crankset, D521 on Big Un wheels and will be servicing the shock and stripping the frame back to replace all bushings and bearings if needed, may take me some time.

The biggest worry was it would be cracked but it's all straight and the AC chain device is all there.
