I'm building up a 1992 Stumpjumper Comp, the Pink one, and was hoping someone might be kind enough to give me a steer on the BB spec before I have to study first principles at sheldonbrown.com.
I have an original 3*7 Shimano XT M730 crankset, with 46/36/24 110/74 bcd chainrings.
The frame BB Shell measures 73mm. Since I was advised that the previous BB extracted from this frame before I owned it was 68*122.5, I wanted to double check with anyone here who might know or advise what I should really go for.
Presumably (obviously?) I should be using a 73mm BB, but the prior info on the 68mm BB makes me question the 122.5 width advised too.
Any input or advice much appreciated.
