Retro smokestone mountain bike. What’s it worth.

I don’t want to split it into bits. But I can honestly say there is no cracks an they are all middleburn crank rings unlike the front hub☹️

Interesting. As yet I haven't seen a smokestone estay on here

I've just mailed the forum's e-stay specialist ... or at least the guy that has more e-stay bikes than the rest of us combined. 🤣
He might be familiar with these frames.

It's 9AM in LA, so I'm not sure when he'll drop in here.

Brilliant! Nice one for that link. Every day is a school day 😉

Think he already has one, or two. Also linked him in a post so hopefully he will see it.

Loads of info on the bikes in the link i posted, if it had been smaller i would have been very interested in it.

Thanks guys. I appreciate the accolades.
E-stay 'specialist' sounds a lot better than what Hotwheels. calls me (the e-stay pervert)
I simply think of myself as the cat-lady of e-stays, I see these unwanted 'strays', and so I feel obligated to take them in and give them a home😇.

To the OP: That's a beautiful bike, and because it's my size I'm definitely interested in it.
Like many here, I'd be more interested if I could buy just fork and frame from you, and there are 2 reasons for that.

1 - I'm not a big fan of those other parts, and if I were to buy that bike from you, I would definitely pull all of the parts off of the frame and then build the frame up with the parts that I would want. Then, of course, I would have to take the time to list and sell the parts that I didn't want on eBay.
2 - In my personal experience, the cost to ship an entire bike is about 3X the cost to ship a frame-only (or frame-and-fork), and although a particular frame can be hard to find, all the other parts besides the frame are easily sourced on this side of the pond. It's usually the wheelset that puts the package size (volume) over the limits set by most couriers for a 'regular' package, thus making it a 'large' package requireing 3X the funds to ship.

That said, I'm in USA. Where are you located?
Do you have a price in mind?

Good evening incorrigible
( retro guru )
Thank you for responding to the post. I’m new to this so please be gentle.
Ive have had the smokestone hard tail had her since the early 90s. Loved the bike but like so many things in life ( getting old an lazy an lots of work an not much free time) as u can see from the time I’m responding to you while I’m in work at 03.30 on a Saturday morning, it’s gone to the attic an been forgotten I would like somebody to give it a new lease of life. An I’m asking whoever can help me on what a honest price it is worth. All the kind people here have said it’s a piece of reto gold so your the e-stay specialist what do you think it is worth. I’m in gods country South Wales 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿 in the United Kingdom. Thank you for taking the time to respond.
