'90 Stumpjumper Comp framebuild

Made a Pepsi-can shim so I can use my 26.8mm seatpost. Sheldon Brown was right. The 91 Comp has a 27mm post.

Bar tape arrived, so had to test the colour. Notice the golden seatclamp.

I also have the chain, and a black seatclamp:

This means I have everything to make this a riding bicycle, at least a beta version.
The crank and BB will be changed out for new parts once I confirm the chainline and chainring size necessary (currently 34t x 18t)
Saddle and seatpost will be different pieces as well.

I have the correct spacers to dish and tension the rear wheel, finally 😃
So the coming days, there should be progress. And hopefully a testride.

These are the tyres I originally bought for this build, back when I just received the frame:

Ohh those look wide
Very interesting
They're VEE tire co - Mission in 2.1 size.
Fell in love with the looks on Amazon and bought them over 2 years ago 🤐
However, I'm having second thoughts on going knobbly on this build since seeing the street tyres installed as it sits now.

I suppose it won't hurt swapping them to see the result. They're currently on a bianchi Celeste MTB from 2000 and look fabulous 👌

I should really present my bikes in a seperate thread, the other 4 mtb's are all 98+
