Guys & Gals. This is the big one, our first official regional meet of the year. Saturday 13th February 2010. Usual spot for the regulars amongst us. Lets try to out do ourselves after the last outstanding meet. Cannot promise snow for the next ride but will do my best.

Usual spot for 10:30am

Location:
Brandon Country Park Visitor Centre
Bury Road
Brandon
Suffolk
IP27 0SU

Map here: http://www.multimap.com/s/PJmDkXZS

Details:
Parking is free but limited spaces, there is extra parking in the Orchard car park behind the old peoples home. There is a very good cafe - opens at 10:00am for the early arrivals - that sells tea / coffee & cakes also hot meals. We usually ride for a couple of hours in the morning then stop for lunch and then head out for a couple more hours afterwards. We will be having a concourse d'elegance competition for the best looking bike of the meet. Every rider attending will be able to vote for their favourite bike at the meet and there will be a prize for the winner. Bring your bling, garage queens and rare old metal, only bikes ridden on the day will be considered.

If you are worried about not being fit enough to come along it is not a problem, we have riders of all abilities turn up, from overweight '40+' blokes like me to XC race whipetts. No one is ever left behind. Thetford Forest has a mixture of fire road and twisty singletrack, the conditions are generally good this time of year and the trails only become sticky after days of heavy rain. Looking forward to seeing you all. Retro bikes not compulsary if you only have a modern bike to ride. Any questions just send me a pm.

Accomodation:
For those travelling from further afield there are a few options for overnight accomodation in the Brandon area (neither of these have been personally tried).

Valbri Motel Bed & Breakfast, London Road, Brandon. IP27 0LZ. 01842 814723 - on the outskirts of the town.

Ram Hotel, High Street, Brandon. IP27 0AX. 01842 810275 - nearer the town centre.

Other accomodation is available nearby including camping for the hardy souls.

Count me in guys.... I'm going to need my riding fix post - New Zealand.

Already had some choice riding with nporternz on the trails around Wellington.... Hooking up with Scrat next week for some trails and watching the NZ DH series round in Dunedin. Doing my best to keep up the skill level as Retrobike's East Anglian overseas ambassador!!

The last meet looked like a great turnout. Was that a couple o' tracteeers in the snow too?

Cheers,
boy" Cool "boy
