Thought I'd start this thread off with some before pictures. I sourced this bike about 18 months ago from eBay. It had about 60% original parts, most of which needed a good clean or had seen better days so I started sourcing all the original parts. Been a bit of a mission and still some items missing which I'll probably never find such as 1993 racelight grips and the original pedals, but I'm pretty much there. So first job for me in the new year is to box up the frame, fork, bars and stem and ship them off to Argos for a complete respray. At the same time I'll get the wheels built ready for the frames return. Spec will be as follows:

Frame: Custom Tange Prestige tubeset; top tube: Ultimate Ultralight, downtube: Ulitmate Utrastrong (externally ribbed), seatube: Concept, rear triangle: Concept
Fork: Kona Project 2 Triple Butted

Headset: Joe Murray Impact Black
Stem: Joe Murray Velocity
Handlebar: Kona Race Light 165
Grips: TBD
Barends: n/a

Brakes: Dia-Compe 987 (NOS)
Brake Pads: Kool Stop
Brake Cables: Shimano
Cantilever cable hangers: Dia-Compe (NOS)
Brake Levers: Dia-Compe SS7 (NOS)

Shifters: Shimano Deore XT Thumbies (NOS)
Front Derailleur: Shimano Deore XT M735
Rear Derailleur: Shimano XTR M900
Derailleur Cables: Shimano
Cassette: Shimano XTR M900 (NOS)
Chain: TBD
Cranks: Sugino Mighty XP
Crank Bolts: Shimano
Chainrings: Sugino Super Shifter
Chainring bolts: Sugino
Bottom Bracket: UN72
Pedals: Wellgo with Joe's clips

Hub Skewers: Front: Shimano Deore XT, Rear: Shimano XTR M900
Rims: Mavic 231 Silver (NOS)
Hubs: Front: Shimano Deore XT M732, Rear: Shimano XTR M900
Nipples: Alloy
Spokes: Stainless
Tyres: Front: A:\Drive, Rear: B:\Drive
Tubes: Kenda

Saddle: Kona Race Light Leather (190g)
Seatpost: Kona Race Light 350mm (275g)
Seatpost Binder: Kona

Weight: Catalogue quotes 23.5lbs

Hopefully over the next couple of months this poor old battered classic will be given a new lease of life and returned to as near as I can get to factory spec, watch this thread.........

Too bad two-tone wasn't offered here. *Sigh* Nice parts!
